Kansas Interfaith Power & Light will be holding a vigil for climate action and protection at the State Capitol. Our many faiths call us to be responsible stewards of Creation and to stand in protection of the poorest and most vulnerable humans, ecosystems, and species that will be most harmed by climate change.
This will be a time for interfaith prayer, reflection and song as we pray that our elected representatives have the discernment to take seriously their responsibility to address both the causes of climate change and its effects on communities throughout Kansas and beyond.
Participating clergy as of today are Rev. John Martin of Grace United Methodist in Winfield; Rev. Lois Harder of Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church in Wichita; Rev. Joshua Longbottom of Central Congregational Church in Topeka; and Rabbi Moti Rieber of the Lawrence Jewish Community Congregation and Kansas IPL. Please join us prayer and meditation on the beauty of Creation and the call for climate justice.
