From the Episcopal News Service:

[Episcopal Church Office of Public Affairs press release] Now available here is the Climate Change Crisis, presented by the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society on March 24. Addressing one of the most significant topics in today’s society, the 90-minute live webcast originated from Campbell Hall Episcopal School, North Hollywood, CA, in partnership with Bishop J. The forum was moderated by well-known climatologist Fritz Coleman of KNBC 4 television news.  Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori presented the keynote address. Two panels focused on specific areas of the climate change crisis:Regional Impacts of Climate Change; and Reclaiming Climate Change as a Moral Issue.

17 Anglican Bishops from all six continents have called for urgent prayer and action on the “unprecedented climate crisis

The group met in South Africa in February to build on months of conversations carried out via the internet. The group involved bishops both from cultures and nations that are major contributors to climate change, and those producing low levels of CO2 but disproportionately affected.

Holy Week Reflections: What Can The Prophets Teach About Climate Change?

The lessons of the Hebrew prophets can teach humanity how to respond to the catastrophe of global warming with strength and resilience. As we near Passover and Easter Sunday, it is a good time to reflect on their example.

And for the 2-1/2%, a teaching on “Passover and Wilderness” by Rabbi Julie Hilton Danon, via Shalom Center’s Purim –>> Passover page.

Passover celebrates freedom, and freedom led our people out to the desert wilderness (Midbar is the Hebrew word for both desert and wilderness). Far from civilization, in the shadow of a mountain, we received divine revelation amidst the sparse landscape of earth, air, fire, and water. A beautiful Midrash teaches that this open wilderness experience was essential to receiving the Torah.

Have a wonderful Holy Week, and happy Passover!
