Kansas IPL is part of Kansans for Clean Energy, a coalition that helped protect the Renewable Portfolio Standard during this year’s legislative session; we expect the RPS to be a major issue again next year. In conjunction with our partners, Kansans for Clean Energy will be working this fall to gather postcards of support for the RPS and to create a large “Faces of Wind” exhibit that will be taken to the Capitol sometime next session along with (hopefully) some 10,000 postcards.

We need you at our “Wind Works for Kansas” booth at the Kansas State Fair! The fair is right around the corner on September 6th-15th. Please consider volunteering for a shift or two to help us with this project! Volunteers will receive a free pass into the fair and a meal ticket, a “Wind Works for Kansas” t-shirt and some swag while assisting at the booth as the face of wind energy.

Sign up now at VolunteerSpot and choose the time that works best for you! You will receive an informative welcome email with everything you need to know about your volunteer time and VolunteerSpot will send you an automated confirmation and reminders. Thanks for making a difference!

“Wind Works for Kansas” is sponsored by Climate and Energy Project in conjunction with Kansans for Clean Energy, Kansans for Wind Energy, and The Wind Coalition. If you can’t volunteer this year, be sure to stop by our booth at 221 Lake Talbott Ave, near the Domestic Arts building.  Come write a postcard to your legislator supporting wind energy in Kansas, take a photo at our photo booth, and receive some free swag.

If you have any questions, please email us at windworksforkansas@gmail.com.
